A priceless remaining slice of Americana on Long Island's South shore, Flo's Famous Luncheonette. Flo's has been open from Memorial Day to Labor Day since 1926 ( so I am told) serving clams, burgers and ice cream to generation after generation of Bayport/Blue Point kids enjoying the summer break from school. This Labor Day weekend, I can't help but wonder how many "last of the summer" memories that this little gem, just one block from popular Corey Beach, holds for many people....attempts to capture the scenes of life's journey.
